Sep 07, 20232-kW fiber laser cutting system provides 4-kW cutting capabilities
Amada America Inc. offers the new ENSIS 3015 AJ 2-kW fiber laser cutting system that provides 4-kW cutting capabilities.
Amada reports that it is the first manufacturer of advanced metalworking machinery to develop its own fiber laser oscillator. Joint development between Japan and America has resulted in this high-powered fiber laser source designed specifically for cutting.
In addition, the resonator automatically and precisely adjusts the diameter of the laser beam. This feature enables continuous processing of thin-to-thick materials by a single machine, and no lens change or additional setup is required. As a result, the system provides fabricators with full cutting capabilities in materials up to 1 in. thick.
Solid-state technology does not require laser gas to generate the laser beam, thereby reducing environmentally harmful emissions. In addition, the power requirements for the system are substantially less than with CO2 systems, the company states.
