Sep 07, 2023Fiber laser cutting systems equipped with fastest linear drive technology
Amada's Regius series fiber laser cutting system offers continuous, ultrahigh-speed processing, leveraging the combined assets of the world's fastest 3-axis linear drive system and numerous autonomous features, the company reports. The linear drive generates 5G of acceleration and reaches traverse speeds of 13,300 IPM. The system reduces the time required to process complex nests by 15% compared to previous models, states the manufacturer.
The 6-, 9-, and 12-kW models use the company's Laser Integration System (LIS). By autonomously monitoring for nozzle condition, pierce penetration, tip-ups, and debris on the protection glass, the machine can navigate around production issues and avoid disruptions in laser processing. The automated capabilities of LIS let the machine monitor its operation and the cutting process and adjust machine and process parameters with minimal operator input.
