Sep 07, 2023BLM GROUP’s Clean Tube Technology maintains clean internal tube finish during laser cutting
BLM GROUP has announced the availability of Clean Tube Technology for its Lasertube 8-in. and below machines to help keep the inside of the tubes free of slag, debris, and dust.
The probe is inserted into pipes during the cutting process and automatically adjusts to the tube diameter. It uses suction to capture spatter, gases, and vapors, leaving a clean, dross-free internal finish. This technology also helps stop the laser beam from reaching the opposite side of the tube wall.
Capturing the debris during the cutting process eliminates the need for a cleaning step after cutting and before secondary processes, such as tube bending with a mandrel. The cleaner the inside of the tube, the longer the life of the mandrel.
